Newport Beach is an approximate one-hour drive from downtown Los Angeles. The John Wayne/Orange County Airport serves as the hub of Newport Beach and other communities within Orange County, with convenient access to hotels, conference, conference centers and visitor attractions. Driving: Driver and all passengers must wear seat belts at all times. Driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a serious offense; driver is considered legally drunk if his/her blood alcohol level is 0.08%
Liquor: Legal drinking age in California is 21 (picture id may be requested at any time). Bars are open until 2 a.m. Liquor stores are open seven days a week. California State Law prohibits the sale of alcohol from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. from any location. No liquor is allowed on beaches.
Smoking: Legal smoking age in California is 18. Smoking is not permitted in bars, restaurants or any other public building in California.
